REBECCA BELL

17-year-old Rebecca started riding when she was just three years old, initially wanting to be an eventer, until her first pony decided he didn't want to jump! She then tried dressage with him and so her journey began. Her dressage career really took off in 2012, when she was selected to represent Great Britain at her first CDIP.

Since then, she has competed at 17 International Competitions (!), the highlights of which were being a part of the winning Nation’s Cup team in Saumur in 2013, as well as winning a class Individually and coming 2nd in two classes at the Longines Vienna Masters this year; her final competition in the Ponies age group, held in the centre of Vienna.

Rebecca has been a part of the British team at the Pony European Championships for the past three years which is astounding, winning team Bronze in 2013, team Silver in 2014, and being a part of the first Gold medal winning GB team in HISTORY in 2015, as well as coming 8th individually. Both of her ponies, who she has notably produced from youngsters herself, under constant guidance from her trainer of 10 years, Caron Roberts, have now moved on to fantastic new homes. She has been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to ride Rob and Sue Fearis’ successful schoolmaster Waranos (Tango) and they made their High Profile show debut in December 2015 and came second with 69%. Today she had a great day at Keysoe with Tango winning the the Advanced Medium 92 overall with 69.2% despite mistakes so the year is certainly looking promising for the pairing. In 2016, Rebecca and Waranos were selected to represent Great Britain at the 2016 European Junior and Young Riders Championships held in Oliva Nova, Spain on 19 – 24 July 2016.

Rebecca has attended the school of St. Helen's and St. Katherine's since 2012, where she was awarded a Governor's Academic scholarship at 13+ entry. The school has constantly supported her dressage career, allowing her time away to compete and to train, and helping her to catch up with the work that she misses, to which she is very grateful.

Her biggest passion, other than Dressage, is art and she would love to pursue it further at some point...but for now she has just enjoyed doing equestrian commissions as gifts and selling a little of her work too.
Rebecca is admired by many not only for her lovely personality and acute professionalism but for her simple love of horses and commitment to the sport that we all enjoy, and we are extremely delighted here at Piaffe that she has joined us and we look forward to working with her.
